Welcome to the 2nd article of ULwaz no Makhula Show where we teach artists like us what do we have applied to make our songs stand out on social media which led to having them popular around the world.

[Durban Inanda, March 31, 2020 Tuesday] —

  1. Make sure you and your friend, producer or group member feels the same way about the song.
What’s do we mean by this point? If one of you feels there is a problem with a song and don’t say he won’t believe in a song and won’t be able to push it like you do. And your probably feel that as well and you will both loose getting poor feedback. Key push the song until person who loves other genre wants to hear it out.
Adding on the 1st point even if the song is already out you can fix what ever you pick up. When we attended Music Imbizo we had a Luck of meeting a music engineer who tested our song on the studio monitor/ speakers that’s he was promoting to sell small one but powerful. He wasn’t even a fan of qgom but he heard that’s our song was more on Hi’s Frequency meaning there was no bass. On that’s point we mastered the song on 2 different engineers and we go back home and we realized we choose the wrong song with missing bass. Which helped us by the time we were doing Music Video we had a right song. So Key to this point you don’t know who may spot the problem of a song take that’s critique constructively.

You not as good as you think or anyone tells you and you not as bad you are in between.

Our Label
  1. Put Your Song in Free downloadable Platform as well as STREAMING Digital Platform.
Firstly you want to be omnipresent on internet; we didn’t know this until we read a book by grant cordon 10X rule. It’s simply means multiply yourself and be available everywhere especially to people who do what’s you do and those who loves it and buy it. Hats way you won’t be obscure people will know about you, follow you and possibly book you so you have to put your song everywhere. our favorites , SlikouronLife , Datafilehost , Audiomack , Youtube(Audio) ,Reverbnation ,and websites related to the genre you are doing , for instance submit to Fakaza most qgom is there , if it’s hip hop submit to websites like move hip-hop or hype and Dot com to all of those. digitally we have used song cast so far , but we planning to change to distrokit its recommended those are distributers to your online stores , Amazon , iTunes , play store ect they charge a bit but not so much .

3. Sacrifice as an individual for the team but into a certain extent.
In Life, business and Music sacrificing plays a huge role but others can take advantage of your good heart so be captious. If there’s harmony in friendship and you all have similar principles others will thank you for your effort which will be a good recognition to what’s you do even if you don’t have to. Either you putted some money to boost a page or make an artwork its doesn’t matter ,if you feel things needs to move a bit faster than you might’s encourage others by your good deed while hitting your own target. But don’t make it like you competing.

Khonintengbambile artwork
  1. Post links daily, answer people.
As you engage on social media , don’t ignore inboxes obviously others are going to see since all you are admins so if you guys/ girls respects each other you won’t say something that’s will diminishes the image of a group. Even if you are a solo artist, respect people think before you talk. Post links on places that’s doesn’t feel like spamming meaning. you only tag people once the day you release the song with a link and a beautiful artwork after that’s they will see it on your wall/ tweet or feed…coz if you tag every time they won’t know even if you say something important or you release again coz you always tag.

We dont look at for opportunities we create them.

behind the scenes of angsaboni music video
  1. Check if combining our moves from the 1st article to this one if there’s no difference (Google Your group name).
So algorithms and way to attract traffic to your music and videos may change but websites that’s push music doesn’t maybe better ones manifest but they all have a common goals put fresh talent on their platform . Meaning your song will be scooped and nice article about you guys will be wrote. even though there are things we do that’s is our DNA like I’m Swing he is Makhula and our strategy of pushing is not the same but it’s all leads to the same place fans and people who loves music. I don’t know if it’s too early to say this but there is a little information that in the future will require us to be with you face to face and help you apply it. We can tell you but it will be effective over the video. things like don’t hold meetings as friends everything you talk should be ispan or music business cause you have other friends that’s you talk other stuff with…so automatically where my friend hit me up I know we on to something, we can ask how is family but it’s very rare cause we get time to hang out but not every time.

We were at auditions for Indayi
  1. Get numbers of influential people on your what app and of Promoters people who makes events.
So my number is 0840196532 it’s still public for business until, its fails me to share it. But we have our manager number public if you want to work with us. It’s best if you reach out to this people already in the industry not just via what’s app but by calling them. So Makhula humbles himself to this people we are scared to talk to and end up getting something out of it. Advice, collabo you may never know but the fact that’s they know you know means a lot. For me I Add them on what’s app of some reason they come to me because I have some other expertise in music like beat making a wealth of contacts. So your job as an artist keep pushing the content on your statuses , stories and so on somehow as much as this big artists they say their busy they watch your moves by mistake. If you grinding uybona sukwiPoster, you’ve been booked that’s when you start negotiating. But more about that’s in our 3rd episode… ULwaz No Makhula Show
Hope you learned and enjoyed this notes next week or anytime after that’s we will have more content like this for you to make powerful music and entertain people .this is ULwaz No Makhula on all socials we are out see you on the next one washa wena!!!!.

5 steps to making a powerful hit single

[Durban Inanda, March 30, 2020 Monday] –Welcome to the 1st episode of Ulwaz no Makhula Show where we teach artists like us what’s we have applied to make our songs stand out on social media which led to having them popular in Durban or Ken in particular and around the world.

Point number one on how to make a powerful single.

  1. Get a good and a bit recognized producer who knows the genre you doing.
When we started doing singles which is what’s we’ve been doing till today , we did song on our own , using unpopular producer but who had a potential and who did became popular a bit…that was 2009 song called syavuma .it was a nice song but you cannot find it on the internet which should be your primary goal. Your song needs to be big on internet 1st.

We are men & woman who are practical in dealing with the conditions in our community

Nelson Mandela

Our second Single 2017 if I’m not mistaken we worked with Dj Target No Ndile but we didn’t mention them cause we paid and all that loll , which backfired still the streets doesn’t know us the song was called IYONA and we pushed it hard even putted it on digital platform but platform we targeted ignored us..
2018 that where things started to happen , on our new Song KHONINTENGBAMBILE featuring the best in the game TOS and we did the smart thing by mistake and mention target and Ndile…that when Internets and music websites pick up on us….great producer great artists that the 1st step that made our song a hit.

  1. Find helping artists that are good at what’s you not.
this point goes straight to the artists that like to work solo, it doesn’t work well to be unkom idla yodwa, and here you don’t have to get a famous artist on 2 of our big songs we used Magibela because he has a great voice for qgom, but when time came for amapiano we had to leave him coz we could manage and we did. So let’s say the song we did on our own was not good we need help. We would have looked for help from people who does the genre we were approaching. So embrace help.
Services we offer at Spliff Entertainment
  1. Do music with your best friend (Mature Best Friend or your Gf)
This point will be counterintuitive but why this person. 1st of all you need to define your a best friend and see if you have anything in common. This show is about friends doing music not doing crime. we not partners in crime we partners in business you may not know us and thinks we pushing some ego or lying to you I dare you to Google us. my point being if you referring to your old buddy from primary and you suddenly meet in a show and now you decide to start a group it’s not going to work. This is how it’s happen to us, maybe it’s not going to work for you but hear us out.
we started by being friends for year while I Lwaz was busy with hip hop and Makhula busy with qgom neNdw Boyz. Our friendship became strong to the point that we wouldn’t let each other down in every endeavor we are taking. So that how you should start. Because you start with others bakshiye endleln waste of time and money when they drop you.
Gf Part comes from our other Friend Jozlina who mixes our songs he does Music with his love of his life. You cannot go wrong in that they have been in No.1 countless times on Mtv base top 10. They apply their chemistry well its works.
  1. Don’t wait to build a team.
Don’t wait for a manager or producer that you can use for free .don’t wait for anything. If you want to make this hit show your friend this video And ask sngahlulwa yin ,we can do this…its might be a challenge spending say a budget of R2500 in a period of 3 months but it will be worth it. Pay for studio, artwork, and boosting of a song as well as mixing and mastering on this money that your team. Since maybe you are friends of two or three divide R2500 by number of yourselves and contribute.
Today’s gift for everyone reading
  1. After you released the song push it (digitally) like crazy.
We going to start by saying something unpopular on this point, you no longer need and free performance exposure 2get recognized, expose you on all social Medias. Face book, Twitter, Instagram, Linkedin, tumbler, youtube ECT…organize neat links and don’t let a day or 3 hours without posting your hot song. So this how it happened to us maybe we have never talked about it but it’s happen coz we true friends. If I see Makhula posting I feel guilty and like I’m not playing my part so I post as well… I invite my friends to like our page, he does the same we want this as bad. If they ask you to come and perform charge them because they see your hard work so you will be able to be motivated and push more.

Thanks for investing in on yourself but before you go, we have a bonus point for you after you have pressed the red subscribe button.
Thank you.

Save Money while you working on that hit song.
Lets us elaborate negotiate services studios , beats , artwork and booking get a fair price so you won’t have to wait too long to raise money and loose spirit of a song. Say we have so much we would like to come and record there politely.
Hope you learned and enjoyed this 1st episode next week or anytime after that we will have more content like this for you to make powerful music and entertain people .this are ULwaz No Makhula we are out see you on the next one washa wena!

Vosho the upcoming single

[Durban Inanda, March 27, 2020 Friday] — Two young men—Lwazi ‘ULwaz’ Ngcobo from eNanda and Khulani ‘Makhula’ Blose from eNdwedwe who are 2 halves of a qgom duo Ulwaz noMakhula, are releasing their double singles called “Angsaboni” & “Wamnandi” via social media and radio this week and the “Angsaboni” music video is also ready for release.

They don’t only do qgom but Afro house as well and amapiano. When asked why they are so versatile and why not focus on one genre, Makhula answered that the music industry is always changing and they need to be on top of their game. ULwaz added that people have been appreciating the music but that it’s hard when you starting out because people you look up to don’t seem to care.

They shared a story about turning down a 100k deal because they felt losing control was going to make their hustle not worth the while and music has no limit to what you can spend before seeing dividends. They encourage the youth of South Africa to bet on their talents without dismissing school but balance the two and pointed out that music is an ultimate entrepreneurship tool if you are an indie artist.

ULwaz No Makhula are under Spliff Entertainment, a company they founded when they met at DUT whilst they were studying IT and became friends. You can enjoy their music from the links below.
