Values, Principles, Philosophies and the way of believing and what’s you see as the right thing within the roam of music. Welcome to this episode of LnM Show, where we talk about life of music and people within in. If it’s the 1st time seeing us please subscribe so you will get more insight in the future ,if there’s a point you agree or disagree with comment below and we will correct that .Let’s get to this values.
- 1 Don’t backstab or exploit other creative’s.
This is the most important point because we see music as rough games where others take advantage of others due to the level them at or simply because they know that they know less. Thing like paying fraction to a producer who made a beat that help you make a hit ,eventually the producers will see you flossing while he’s struggling and will resent you and maybe hate you. You may say everyone has haters, then we say this one has a motive. ULwaz No Makhula are independent artists making bigger moves we actually talk to producers how we going to work ,then they charge us or want a percentage and we always willing to pay although we know recording is just a start there is still marketing and distribution , branding and shoots producer by then is nowhere to be found to contribute which leads to my second point ,rather have an in-house beat maker who will have to sacrifice as much as we do , so when cheese come it will be spitted accordingly. Fair % on royalties is important.
Contracts are a routen for the rich ,not a necessity for untrusted dealingsAnonymous
- 2 Artist should Value time.
Before I elaborate we keep on saying artist and we may be boxing ourselves but some of this apply to everyone but let’s just say this point apply to everyone within the music industry and other sectors. Musicians seems to take time for granted they have a lot of downtime where they do nothing , smoke weed and codeine which may not be good for their health and to the kids watching to their favorite celeb they end up thinking smoking is cool which is not the case. So what’s do we suggest to so much time artists have, don’t be just an artist get into business as well till today we have realize with my friend that if we have free time we do ill so we needed to find a way to fill our time with something valuable and that will make us appreciate doing after its have been done. You can write a book ,Make youtube videos or do more songs but you need to always busy if you not doing music related things otherwise you will be out there playing celebrity and that not a good trade off spending all your days at Shisanyamas and liquor.
- 3 Value your fans have self-control
It’s tempting to feel big when people treat you as such; you deserve it, enjoy it and be smart about it. I heard that Casper nyovest cannot talk back badly to his fans on social media especially on twitter because he had some contracts that can be bridged if he does that. What’s we saying make it your habit to take note of fans points good or bad and Improve or dismiss but we don’t think it’s good retweeting you fan mean tweet, with your mean retweet you not suppose to pay attention to that or answer politely because there’s a saying that I heard on Alux.com channel that say when fools are arguing you don’t see which is which .So hold your anger and breath it out..On Valuing your fans,we might’s add this as a disclaimer fans will always talk good or bad and there will be your day ones , there’s a lot can be said about you but fake shouldn’t be one of them don’t fake it for PR and don’t fake it for your fans ,they see the fake smile ,they see and feel the tension between artists and they definitely see the subliminal posts on face book and they connect the dots and make a story. What’s ever that can trend without your intent is good for your brand but we don’t like pulling stunts especially negative ones so we could get attention why because people thinks that your real side you’ve been hiding so if we could have a PR person that can lack creativity we can have a problem.
- 4 Value your worth
Money is the name of the game but standing your ground is also important disagreeing is not a bad thing if the other party understands and sees your point of view. If say you charge a performance fee if the offer is too low, you don’t even have to say how much you need to that because you see it’s not going to end well anyway that where you can involve a manager to get rid of that promoter if a good manner coz one day he might afford you .Remember point number 2 of time your worth also links all that. That why as artists we need to start to be more creative and become more than we are say if you have me in your show I will perform and talk you see my worth automatically jump coz not every event has tipsy dry fans, some have elders and youth that still needs to be conscious about life so if you could offer both you can have your own niche.
- 5 Artists should value their fellow artists that are trying to come up.
You will feel threatened by a hot kid in the streets unless you willing to mentor that kid, and we would recommend the latter .It was great seeing big artists pull other big artists when their small. being thanked is a wonderful thing and leave that artist the homework of doing the same .What’s I like about music it’s never get crowded at the top there are too much followers for that some love Sjava , some loves Cardi b , Some Loves ULwaz No Makhula and so on and so on. Millions of fans indeed you just have to grow yours once the door has been opened for you.
Now it that time of the show where we bounce back and let you pounder this and attach them into your life as early as possible. Become a hero to yourself by having the right principles and values. We have videos next that you will learn from as well so get into it or if you see this one in one of your friends we are ULwaz No Makhula on all socials. - 6 Value everyone within the industry who helps your career in anyway.
From your mom and dad to people who set up a stage for you ,bring you a mic ,water or towel your hardworking manager ,the person that believed in you and signed you ,the bouncers ,people who shows love in the street ,value each and everyone. You will probably ask how I can keep track of all this , well it’s not easy but it’s something you can do ,lets us share how we do it, 1stly the person who interact with your calls you with your stage name so you should be aware of that and treat that person nicely ,people who calls Lwazi ,Malwazela or Swing they get special treatment the moment they utter those words because of the connection…be aware of the moment if you take the mic show gratitude to the person giving it to you before you get on stage. And have a team in place that I mentioned above that will keep you in check and that why you should share this with them. I don’t know how can you be polite to the deejay playing for you even if he put the wrong song by mistake .See when you on stage entertain people but look out for subtle things that you can do that your fans might take home with them because they were so bad. Don’t make a face when a mic doesn’t work rather make a joke about it while its being fixed .So in this point take the fact that your moments matter the most good or bad how you react makes or eat the life out of your good values.
We can’t wait to come back with other interesting topics so check more videos of ours that you might have not read or download our song for free on the links in theposts Thank you for your time we out LnM .
Value other peaples personal space
If you come to someones live ,for any reason don’t demand things you have not pay dues for , thats will be respect and services anything thats might rub other person a bad way . So becareful no one is obligated to answering your DM and inbox so wait and be respectful dealing with people and even if you going to pay , thats doesnt give you a right to emotional blackmail a person you need help from.
