WHY UPCOMING ARTISTS HAS MORE MALE FOLLOWERS THAN FEMALE ONES

Hi thanks for paying us a visit us once again, we want to share our perspective and maybe how we can improve this, underground and mainstream males like music more than female and this is not a scientific research and to upcoming artists the gap is too much not just for their music they share but even in instagram we saw that’s if you do hip hop on House and gqom and anything that’s is not musical but lyrical mostly guys follow you so why in our humble understanding that’s is?

  • 1 The lyrical content is mostly male related situations.

We may argue on this topic, but things pop culture sings about is normally streets and hustle and sometimes good life, where girls are just part of that’s good like and not important piece. So when woman hear this they rather tune to gospel music more and thinks of god than watching music videos with other woman like them popping as out while the alpha is a male .So this distaste is something most artists are not aware of but as we have seen the big songs are from people like Sjava in SA where woman is very important and treated with respect in songs and videos, ambitious entertainment balance all gender when they push their artists. London is a female artist they have and its beauty attracts males to follow her and females to want to be like her before even knowing her song , same apply to Nicky minaj but without balance we see most males being a followers of music artists especially the upcoming ones ,they encourage and give this artists hope.

  • 2 Because we approach our fans at this stage.

This comes down to self control and separating business and pleasure, our partners may not like what’s we do because of the small attention we get any worse if we found them through music,we need to convince them she was just lucky. On other hand we don’t know the true intensions of our female fans we may take advantage of them and we end up losing them because of resentment and seeing other sides of us, If we approach them it’s become a awkward situation. While on the other hand if you just become friend she will bring you more fans of a female kind which is what’s is needed,I saw doing a music video with my cousin her influence to other girls made the video get notice to a different demographics  that’s was a big up, But all in all we shouldn’t take advantage of ladies if they show love of our music.

  • 3 We don’t have a female member in our team.

If a studio is made up of males only the minds and strategies are the same and that’s girl feel is missing and we fail to connect with ladies, meaning A&R should play its part here, Even talking about teams is something rare to other artists, team is what’s make an artist people who do the business side of things and management of most things about an artist. If your team doesn’t have a woman you can be sidelined and miss a huge market that’s is supposed to be supporting you, the branding on its own is important, like my aunt said the other day I can buy Sjava’s Cd but I cannot stand him on TV so for big companies they should find a way to figure that’s out .if an artist could resembles his/her music that’s would be a win.

  • 4 We don’t know how to influence them.

See for years I wasn’t good at dating and I couldn’t figure out why, its might have been lack of confidence and other things and sometimes I saw my friends with girls and made an argument that’s  it’s because there are girls in their homes and we were all males in my home. I was right in to a certain extent up until I saw my brothers good at this, then as I began to know how to do this as we I saw that’s its all came down to influence. Our music is written to a male stand point of things and apart from the fact that’s they can vibe to it, we didn’t create a connection where they listen to the song when they’re not at the club or party. So it’s important if we write really put ourselves in different shoes so we can influence every one. Other artists always write songs about me!!! Me!!! me!!!,but that’s too as good as it is may not convince people to follow you. You can be a voice for them and then they will be influenced to follow you as their leader.

  • 5 Our Posts are not appealing to them.

Since we are an aspiring artists and we still have a long way to go ,quality of what we post may be low maybe to the fact that’s we don’t making any huge moves so all we posts it’s just gibberish and if not that’s it’s because our content has a low quality because of the gear lack so we need to take stock of those challenges as upcoming artists and solve them. Instead of buying new pair of jeans when you don’t need a G-star expensive jean go to Mr. price and get it that’s way ,the change can go to a camera so fans can have a poor quality but not us we need to be different somehow.

So this article was inspired by the fact that’s someday I looked at my instagram analytics and saw 80% males and 20% females and this was really a mind opener for me so we need to pay attention to this things. In our culture here we normally have more males in hip hop shows than female so that’s on it own is a problem that’s clearly shows the type of people following us and those that’s reacts to our message. Switching to Gqom and Dance music is a different story and actions must differ as well.

6. Because earlier on before success , we are not in a mainstream market.

Example for this point is Duncan Skuva , before he was signed to Afro ,he has male fans mostly and Tira used his knowledge and influence to put him on females market and encouraged him to tone down on rapping for the street and we saw his sound change .Lesson here is we need to focus on whats working and use it more than trying to prove to one another how good we are. lets study the masses and use the information to diliver great music to attract ladies and female in most demographics cause its has been said they can be a loyal fans who buys as well.

5 Questions artists should ask themselves while hustling

Hi Welcome to another insightful episode of LnM , ULwaz No Makhula we might not both talk in some episodes but rest assure we approve together everything that we share to improve your music life and reinforce it to ourselves as well. Now What’s questions an artist should ask him/ herself in the road to success in music ,its depends on where you are already and your aspirations .Mostly we focus on beginners in this channel because we still growing as well .And we realized that what’s helped us get where we are today were questions we asked ourselves and others and applied the answers we got ,so today we want to give you some questions as well that will be valuable to your journey .The only thanks we need is your subscription to this channel as well as pressing a notification bell if you already did we appreciate it. Now here is Curiosity.

  • 1 Why am I attending this event?

We may have mentioned that we don’t perform for free in previous episodes but sometimes we show up in events unexpectedly why that is. A. to network with people in general ULwaz go out to music conferences and I know some other artists do that watch this videos and we happy you on the right path, but do you network? You need to get some contacts and actually follow up on those and do that feature or a beat for that artist learn from how he conducts his music and do what’s he does .Example I went to the street chillers by Dude at Voco Lounge town and Met Shon G as Dj Swing after years of wishing to work with this guy there he was and at this point we were both on the line up so he had to pay attention and worse part I played for him ,I offered him a beat and he gave me his number later on we talked I gave my best beat. Months later we had a Shine On Features Musiholiq Biggest song in Kzn and SA .Dude didn’t pay me the lineup was sick but back then I wasn’t working with Makhula that when we decided to stop attending shows that doesn’t help us. So before justifying your reason to waste your hard earned cash to go to a show ask yourself why. Maybe you have no one to meet and you not going to perform personally its either I’m a VIP or forget it but most importantly I earn for my time and talent.

  • 2 Why am I recording this song?

This point can hurt me as I am always selling beats but I don’t encourage artists to record songs that they don’t know how they going to get to people ,links doesn’t work anymore people have their sites they visit to download music and it’s very sad to say but even on the internet there are gate keepers now. I need to correct myself if  I say contradicting things on some other video I said internet has made the playing ground flat for everyone and there are no gate keepers well I meant that but what’s I’m saying now ,Websites like Fakaza has they’re system to see hot artists to put on as well as other major free music marketing platforms. so every artist need to get above the water   first then every time they release it will be like magic and ULwaz No Makhula has done it so keep watching our videos as we will share how we did it if we have not shared already. Getting back to the point ,are you recording this song to have something new you want to perform or the old song is fine , maybe you got a dope beat now you feel like jumping on it? Our advice if you not going to put everything aside just to push this song don’t record it ,push the existing one ,Pushing a song can take a minimum of 3 months to a year and do that as well when you are mainstream .Other artists are terrible business people they release a new song while they still have a hot song that they can capitalize with don’t be like that.

  • 3 Who should I look up too?

LnM should be your 1st option ,I don’t know how big this channel will grow but for business purposes I can openly leave my what’s app number 0840196532 .I can still manage to talk to a lot of people so greet me and get to the point then we will be fine. Look up to us and look up to other major artists preferably those who runs their own companies  like Rick Ross , 50 cent and many more .why this guys because they know ins and out of their business even if they have a team. Also signed artists like Beast from Afrotainment that guy was going to make it either way by how he worked there was no stopping him. He worked smarts and the guy did something that we can all replicate if you know you going to offend me on what’s app just don’t say anything and don’t respond on a status, Beast for me is that guy you know when we all hustling wanting some info to big artists and got their number by luck and we don’t even have manners and approach as an artist the best way to answer that is dismissing it. Unless you see you have a moment. Look up to business people why, your song is a product and never take it for granted just because you don’t know how to market and distribute this questions require you to take action so even right now you can close this video and go to watch an interview of an artist or business person you admire and as we know now Jayz is everyone favorite ill suggest you go back to old videos though not now because you will get lost.

  • 4 Do we share as same vision with my team?

This is a hard question that will set you back for years and you need to figure it out quickly since we have mentioned it here .This is the no1 task after this video. You may be the lazy one and guilty one then use this as your advantage and change fast and become a better team player. So how do you figure out you are running with a great team? At LnM we experienced this and as a team we still sometimes  don’t see eye to eye this happens even in business and if that happen its means you are really working because if there’s no work there is no fights ,what’s will you be fighting about? Nothing, this doesn’t means you have lost a vision. See when you and your team are not in a same vision here what’s happens 1. They don’t contribute financially if they do its not on time ,it can be electricity in studio or petrol in a member’s car they just want to work for free  apart from that they don’t want to do things professionally ,you suggest song mastering they say its fine ,you suggest some beat maker no he is expensive ok that fine ,the free stuff that they know serious artist does like registering at Samro they don’t do it for years and we don’t know why and there and there you see to this people music is really a hobby and little few people who knows them they think they’re famous all that illusion get them stuck in one place. Disclaimer our friends might see this or hear it please don’t be offended it’s meant for lecture not personal attack to anyone.

  • 5 Am I good at this?

Self awareness is more important than what’s people say ,yabo this one applies to everyday life are you good at your 9-5 can you do better ,why do I not get promoted and so on and so on. Questions makes a huge difference .Like who am I do this music for? Age, Gender and Geographic. Now internet show people who follows your work everything about them and I know guys who has a lot of female fans even by looking in their comment section but somehow they don’t know how to leverage that .ULwaz No Makhula has both but Dj Swing is strictly males and at 1st this didn’t sit well with me then later I realized I have an audience that all that matters ,Biggie Smalls once said do music for the ladies and their man will take them to his concert and ask them to buy cdz for them as well .Now if I have the bread winner rapped in my hand than I’m way ahead just kidding loll .But hope you get my point for as long as you have followers you good to go. But if you terrible at what’s you think you are doing then you need to pivot .I know a guy who had a studio but wasn’t good at producing he’s now amazing photographer and make a living and travel the world  his company is Fire spark .

You know we give out few 5 points and they take more than five minutes and that means our experience so far is valuable now LnMs go out there and get the answers of this questions we just posed for you. Follow us on all social media as ULwaz No Makhula and suggest to us on the comments if we should be LnM in social medias as well and second your opinion we will consider it. Thank you for watching lets us give you the last point that should stick to your heard Bonus.

  • 6 Should I stop doing music?

Maybe you are a Rapper / Dj / Beat Maker /Graphic designer /Producer /Photographer / Event organizer or Promoter anything music related. All I can say this is not a yes or no type of question. We all get to this point I want you to just anticipate it. I putted myself 10years run after 8 years of realizing I’ve been pushing music for so long and said by 2018 I’m stopping. Look now I was talking to myself disregarding my fans people who bought my t-shirts ,my other fellow artists and I even forgot that my father supported me and anyone has bought to the idea that I’m a musician and my artists understood but didn’t stop asking for beats loll .You see how I was so selfish well I didn’t see it that way because I had other things going on in my life and music came back to fill up a void that we all experience sometimes when we have nothing to do then turn my computer and make music even my girlfriend knew in fact that why she loved me in the 1st place loll now I’m going to stop this am I crazy. I had to rewire my thinking and try to make money out of my talent, hobby or career what’s ever you call it .its needed to add value in my life except entertaining my dopamine and ego .So Should I quite goes back to if I do then what’s is my purpose of living maybe you have other talents and maybe you have developed more love for your job and you see it replacing love for music or you realize you wasn’t good anyway which is the previous point. Ill add before we go ,fans are your customers if you do not serve one another I can say don’t prioritize them in your decision making ,as well as your family they will support you in what’s ever you will do they’re view is not rational is emotionally so do gauge with them as well. And lastly in general never listen to your heart when you take decisions always know heart has nothing to do with your feelings, it’s your mind and intuition and again do some calculations before deciding so you will be logical as well. Now you will ask how? E.g. numbers of hours you spend doing music since its doesn’t pay you do you consider that time a loss or maybe a investment then you can take appropriate action. Well this was a long one thanks for tuning in the next segment is as good if not better so thanks for watching the whole thing ,Goodbye.
