South African arts and culture, artists and entrepreneur should reinvent themselves

Lockdown has shown weakness in the city innovation and technology, and obviously behind in online experience of music and other sectors but today we will focus more on Music and more on other aspect of art and culture. Let’s us generalize and make you think of this idea ,why should South African Artists should sell music via intentional aggregators who are not working in the best interests of the African society but only on the wellbeing of America? Why network providers are not transparent and accessible for our ideas as upcoming artists and why all the IT students who also passionate about music do not create platforms to help the Province and the country benefits? Lastly why government isn’t encouraging what’sslikouronlife life is doing in Johannesburg so we can control our financial destiny as artists .All I’m seeing is us paying premiums every month and years to guys who want to take advantage of other because they see they’re lazy to do it themselves.

Attension

Call mWith the above questions ,we really don’t have platform to be heard as art and this alone piss me off to the point I’m relying on word press to voice my anger ,yet not only that’s I’m planning and working towards solving this issues. We need efficient online platforms ,where we can see RIO in a matter of a year and encourage our fans and supports to actually purchase our products in this places ,while getting mainstream media to advocate this channels like they do for platforms like iTunes and spotifies

I’m not against this platforms but the legal agreements we sign up for are too much have even fine prints that’s we as artists don’t need because we are not lawyers we are simply musicians .We want something as put my album online and its cost R100 and after one sale I can be able to cash that’s I know there are stories of taxes and are very important but for my blood to start rushing I need to see where my effort is going.

Deejay @ work
Hits with no royalties

I guess I won’t do point form today, we saw artists like Zakwe using their connections and influence pushing artists online on face book platforms and YouTube, that’s is fine known and in the long run which is why we need coders to come forward not in the aim of making money only but to strive for a course, we need marketers to come as well and make South African based product mainstream. Tiktok are using artists music to push their platform which is good and knowing that’s this product is from china and china government back its startups and mostly its businesses is no brainer that’s South Africa should cut a pattern.

Music ,Painting ,Dancing , skating ,drama ,film and so on need to be protected as our IP intellectual Property we know this big companies has audience that’s we still need but we can still start our own thing from the scratch and for Coders and IT guys I’m sure you know now how this work ,you build something in order to fill a need ,so be different in your approach and cut most of time consuming part and make your innovation easy and most importantly learn the business side of things because if this becomes a reality Venture Capitalists will pop up everywhere with millions and want control on valuable startups with a vision and eventually wants control ,So this will only mean don’t build to sell because that’s strategy doesn’t work any way build to solve a problem and pay attention to what’s feature people uses the most on the product you put out and embrace that’s pivot and don’t stick to one version so much that’s you miss the whole picture or other players beat you to it. Check all the buy products, the incongruities and so on read books like innovation and entrepreneurship like peter Drucker and rework.

Kwazulu Natal Should lead in the production rather than what’s is happening now which is consuming and private businesses can intervene to make this possible, I don’t want to lie I don’t know anything about stocks yet but the moment we hear that’s south African based internet app or website is making an impact I will put my money there.

Ideas shouldn’t be money hungry too , see I get lot of emails from international brand wanting us to be their ambassadors using our talents that’s ok , The problems is us while pushing their products ,they want us to pay premiums ,so that’s simply a no ,if you build something make sure the ambassador get what’s they work for ,and if they have to be charged then it’s should be taken in the money that’s brand is supposed to pay him ,Same as this thing of royalties I know artists are not greedy ,while this aggregator wants money upfront ,the winning one is the one that’s takes a reasonable percent after the music sales. So that’s how I think it can be a win, win. Money is a fuel of a business but server and fast computers are the tools of an IT guy and they rely on people to test and complain if you put a premium from a get go you will have a problem .Unless there is a direct service on top of it and product.

ULwaz No Makhula coming soon Single

We can learn from Mxit introducing moola for their messaging platform ,If you can build something with initial free credits and get people subscribing and hooked with good content in top of it that’s will be a winner .I can keep going but my point is clear now .Those who have money but love to take this challenge be my guest technology has evolve a lot from old days spoon and plate to now computers and coming Artificial Intelligence ,as well as VR Technology .I may add to that’s point to everyone reading that’s you don’t have to bet on this alone this Pandemic has shown that’s idea that’s may seem lame like partying alone at home as a terrible one ,but VR technology shows that’s if the experience I wanted was to see ULwaz No Makhula perform and ULwaz no Makhula wanted to perform for a crowd Black mirror TV series has demonstrated that’s its possible as well as VR technology .but we know there is more to this than that’s so any app that’s can serve that’s experience will do well in a market place .Thanks for checking unique ideas today from this LnM website please share maybe someone might be intrigued and do something.

In closing Vusi Thembekwayo has once said that’s government should make things accessible for businesses that’s has a growth mindset and don’t want to remain small. Tax clearances and infrastructure should be in place to improve our economy as a whole and efficiency in place. What’s he added is business people should think big and act accordingly so check out his videos on YouTube .I’m also guilty of the bad things we do mostly us black people, making the entire paperwork of a business to bid for one tender which is wrong cause its somehow shows the main focus is on money, chances are the math is not good and that’s is way dangerous than having a successful project and don’t see ROI. Thanks please follow us as ULwaz No Makhula on all social media.

Let’s me make a disclaimer , I’m not against USA based businesses and not against how they operate but putting a client 1st is my concern ,e.g. ITunes is too big now to maintain its operations without third parties ok but I was a member of one aggregator and I signed up with a fee ,when I wanted to cancel they asked for another fee why is that’s I asked and didn’t get a valid answer because they were taking premium on me and I was pas that’s aggregator since there was a new better one I want having this problem ,as a customer this did not sit well with me ,they had my card number which meant I was at their mercy .so things like notifying a customer about upcoming charges may be of help ,while others may try to dodge that’s but others will see a great anticipation and budget accordingly.

Is your music worth a world ear?

Starting from the top today with a question welcome to LnM today we almost didn’t do a video but hey when you have gave yourself to something you push all laziness and bad day destruction and get back your mojo ,That what’s we should do even in our music look for the edge and oomph to put pen on a paper…Before we try to answer the question of today with our best of abilities Please Subscribe below and comment if something comes up while we speak your opinion is the most important.

  1. Is your neighborhood already listening to you?

Before we go to the world or your nation you should get confirmation around you ,Well we always refer to ourselves but we will go to Jayz the billionaire rapper today ,His teacher told him he was smart with words and then he started rapping after seeing that his community relates to what’s he is doing he had to find a way to make it big ,so you gatta do the same ,At Spliff Entertainment we had that thing when release at Inanda our work just spread like a wild fire that was a sign that the world could listen to us.

  • 2 Are you universal in your content and context

We used to think we need to speak popular language like English to get recognized worldwide like Nasty C ,Yes to maintain international status you need that but to get the world to know about you , you need a great company and connections We had the likes of Sjava and Sho Madlozi who are recognized everywhere yet we don’t understands their language maybe Sjava for  us .But the key is what’s they say in their songs that resonate with people that what’s we called content so a white person may need explanation of Sjavas song and actually find a deep meaning where as you can listen to some qgom or a trapper flossing with things they don’t have and miss the point , Then context we tend to get out of the point every time we talk or sing ,if we lose a theme then we don’t have a worldwide song .So you need all that to have a big song and when I say company you think afro , ambitious and universal no we mean your team people around you who help you push.

  • 3 What’s your mindset says?

There is a lot of strategizing that goes into doing music although we don’t call it like that sithi ukhlanganisa thina, This all comes back to the way you think if you thing I’m local you will remain local but if you say I’m continental you still going to circle around we all get the same platforms in nowadays some TV are with us in fighting with payola and piracy millions of people can watch you on TV and still remain poor, cause its what’s you do after that, that matters. So our secret ULwaz No Makhula the day we started playing on Mtv Base and Channel O is the same day we poured money on face book to boost our page while people are getting to know us ,they will definitely connects the dots and trust me face book ,twitter and other socials make you a worldwide act .Sometimes you post on Insta and get an email to push a brand from overseas so you need to know about those possibilities. Think Big, Go Big, Step by Step then keep on sacrificing we prefer living life on an edge unless you scared of dyeing but you gatta take risks and go hungry .If you buy expensive sneakers for no reason you not going to win in music trust me. We bought those for music video #Strategy.

One of the biggest events ULwaz No Makhula are a part of.
  • 4 What’s type of beats are you using.

It’s a beat and its quality and that what’s we do every day but we don’t seems to grow much as artists because our producers don’t experiment as much , you need your own sound for starts they play with it around fuses with what’s new but don’t lose yourself to a trend .The beat should be nice on it own ,to the point that you scared to use it , It’s should be well arranged we took a chance sometimes this days and we did the arrangements our self and the beat from inexperienced producer and we ended up hearing that something was missing and we considered going back to the pros.

  • 5 Who can you measure yourself with who has made it.?

You need to say if you could put me in the stage with so and so I can entertain the crowd as good ,not as an arrogant and competitive person but as the way to measure yourself. You know when you are good and there I like fire burning within you. Genres differ in Kwaito and Amapiano or qgom there is less of that , there is pure marketing but artists that sings and hip hop there are goose bumps involved you need to feel that , Dance music needs dancers to make sense .Back to the point whose your mark since you started doing music? Answer that and get you potential level in a global scale.

This was a short episode as you can see this was not one of those hippy days but we were able to deliver ,On that note you know the routen Share the video and follow us on all social media and like it as well as notification bell. As you know we not competing here we don’t even know what’s other music channel are teaching you from which experience. As you know we are practical not theorizing and baiting you to buy any product we have none of those if we happen to put it it will because we saw the need and you will take it for the wellbeing  of yourself ,now lets  me get to the bonus and leave you to think about.

  • 6 Why you want the whole world to hear the music?

As you can see questions drive the whole show today ,Internet might have putted us in to a world connection but still we don’t have to be that ambitious , you can aim there so that if you fall short you will go to Continentally but for us all we see is a business moves nje ,if you think you would love to travel like Black Coffee and have the hard life that he gat then good for you , you see he was born for that or he built that for himself and it’s not easy to maintain you see what’s happens aside , so as you aspire the big things look at the sacrifices and what’s yourl have to endure and know that you will need will and a lot of self-discipline. Your way of doing things is the most important. As we are closing this video I want to share a little what’s happened today at work So my supervisor asked me to help someone with something that is out of my duties I agreed and that person is older a bit than me and other race which makes some tension on its own, the moment we start to try and help each other they leave me alone to do the work and my guard was up from the get go and I complained and leave the work. They told me I must leave it they will do it themselves and they got mad at me even my supervisor I kept quiet .Then later they call me to give me some stuff they don’t want to throw away I agree to take it and they say why I didn’t want to help if I want this stuff? I apologies they were almost done then I helped a bit now they’re busy disciplining me with words ,saying I have a bad attitude and they said at the end they would have payed me R400 and gave me some books that I saw and like now because I was rude I won’t get it. So this is the side of my story, my question comment below, did I have a bad attitude? Remember nothing was explained to me .Bye.
